No. Gimel converts value you already own — your existing miles and points. There's nothing to buy and no out-of-pocket cost at any step.

Gimel supports the major airline mileage programs across Star Alliance, oneworld, SkyTeam, and leading independent carriers, plus major credit card rewards programs such as Chase Ultimate Rewards, Amex Membership Rewards, and Capital One. You'll see the full list when you start a donation.

You can include several programs in a single donation — pledge miles from multiple airlines and points from multiple credit cards, all going to the cause you choose.

Each loyalty program sets its own minimum. You'll see the minimum for each program right in the pledge form when you enter your balance.

Expired points can't be converted, so we encourage you to pledge before your program's expiry date. Once you've pledged, our team works to convert your balance well before expiration becomes an issue.

Gimel works within each program's own redemption and transfer options — the same tools available to you as a member. We handle the details so you don't have to navigate them yourself.

Three steps: you pledge your miles or points and choose an institution, our operations team converts them into cash, and the money is delivered to the institution. You can follow each stage from your dashboard — Pledged, Converted, In Transit, and Donated.

Our operations team redeems or transfers your points using each program's own mechanisms and turns the resulting value into cash. Every step is handled by Gimel — you never need to do the conversion yourself.

It varies by program and balance size — some conversions complete in days, others take longer. Your dashboard always shows the current status of every pledge.

Once points have been converted they can't be returned to your loyalty account. If you need to make a change before conversion happens, contact our support team as soon as possible.

Yes. You'll receive email updates as your donation moves through the pipeline, and your dashboard shows the status of every donation from pledge to delivery.

When you start a donation, you pick the recipient from our database of schools and charities — just start typing the name and select it. Each donation supports one institution; you can always start another donation for a different cause.

Each donation goes to a single institution, but you can run as many donations as you like — one for your school, another for a charity, and so on.

You can follow every donation through your dashboard until it reaches Donated status, which means the funds have been delivered to your institution.

If an institution becomes unavailable before your donation completes, our team will contact you so you can redirect your donation to another cause.

Institutions on Gimel come from a curated database built and reviewed by our team — they can't be freely created by anyone. Institutions claim and verify their own profiles before receiving funds electronically.

Yes. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and we follow industry best practices for storing and handling personal information.

To convert miles on your behalf, Gimel needs sign-in access to the loyalty accounts you pledge from. You provide credentials during the donation flow, and some programs may also require a one-time code that we'll request from you when it's needed.

Credentials are stored in an encrypted vault, are never visible in plain text in our systems, and every access by our operations team is logged and auditable.

No. Gimel does not sell your personal data. See our Privacy Policy for the full details on what we collect and how it's used.

Gimel facilitates point-to-cash settlements and does not provide tax advice. Deductibility depends on your personal situation and the receiving institution — please consult your tax advisor.

Gimel does not issue tax receipts or donor acknowledgments. These remain the responsibility of the receiving institution — contact them directly for documentation.

Once points are converted, the conversion is final and points can't be returned to your account. The full details are in our Terms & Conditions.
